MAY 24 : CAIRO
MAY 24TH, FRI : CAIRO
After breakfast, we were off to see the Pyramids of Giza. We all entered the compound after entry fee was paid and all stood in line to climb up the cave to enter the chamber. Here we faced our disappointment when the Sentry prevented us saying you have to pay extra ticket of $25. We were wild as we would have to go back to the gate, take the ticket and again climb. We just gave up, took pictures and went back to bus.
Then we were taken to Sphinz, here also they just stopped the bus, did not allow us to get down due to security reasons and made us take the pictures from it. We were wild and disappointed.
The purpose of visiting Cairo was to see the Pyramids and Spinz. They then took us instead to shop at the Perfume Centre. We did not get down in protest and sat in the bus.

They then took us to Papyrus Museum where they showed how papyrus paper was made from the papyrus reeds. On the walls around, there were beautiful papyrus paintings, statues and golden sarcophagi of mummy.
We then moved on to old churches of Cairo, most of them Coptic. We attended mass held in Chapel of Serguis n Baccus (Martyrs).
\We were told they would take us to Museum, and we were very hungry and angry but it was a visit to Pharaonic Village. We were made to sit in a boat and taken around the island. This Pharaonic Village was a dream of Dr. Hassan Ragab, who took pains to recreate this era and re-introduce papyrus paper making. The island is surrounded by Papyrus weeds and other shrubs where you get to see various birds. All round you get to see and meet various statues of Egyptian God and Goddess. The instant you begin sailing down the canals that circle through the island you get immersed totally in the Egypt of history.

you will get to see, what we experienced. We did not visit the museum, no time and hungry.
Had lunch and then went back to relax in the hotel. Evening we went on Nile Cruise steamboat “Nile Smart”, cruising down River Nile, enjoying Egyptian music, dance and dinner.
It was a lovely finale to our Holy Land/Egypt trip. Tired, we trooped back to our hotel.
